Opened in phases in 2013/2014, Highstreet is a 600,000 square foot open-air shopping centre, anchored by Cineplex VIP Theatres, London Drugs, H&M, Marshalls, Steve Nash Fitness, Sephora & Milestones. The three-level shopping centre features main street style shopping and dining with one and two storey buildings on the podium level and a Walmart Super Centre on the lower level with 1,400 covered parking stalls.
Markus worked as general manager for six years, starting one year prior to the opening with a focus on delivering exceptional services, programs and signature events. In this role, he established pre-opening and annual budgets, hired and managed the core marketing, operations and administration teams, and negotiated and managed key contracts. The success of programs and initiatives undertaken created a blueprint for Shape Properties portfolio.
